A while later, Foxpelt was beginning to regret his expression of confidence in his ability. He'd been patrolling the border, and had yet to find more than a small mouse (which he HAD caught, to be fair).
He wished there were more cats to help with this...

Almost as if the universe was intentionally trying to bring up uncomfortable memories, the wind shifts and blows an unfamiliar scent in Foxpelt's face.
Up in a tree, a tiny, slim black and tawny she-cat sits in a tree, tail dangling down.
"Hi," she calls, a little shyly. "What's your name? Are you a warrior?"

Somewhat nervous thanks to the events of yesterday, Foxpelt snaps his head up to look at the other cat.
"Grr...again?"
"Who are you?" he calls, a bit more snappishly than intended.

The she-cat shrinks back a bit at Foxpelt's tone.
"I-I'm Raven," she says nervously. "But who are you?"

"I'm Foxpelt. And yes, I'm a warrior."
Foxpelt tenses slightly, in case he has to climb after her.
"Can I ask what you're doing here?"

"I just wanted to meet you," the little she-cat says. "And find out your name."
She crawls out towards the end of the branch, which bobs under her (very slight) weight.

"Hrm....you know, we don't usually allow strange cats into our territories."
Foxpelt takes a step toward the other cat's tree, trying not to look menacing.

"I know, but how else could I meet you?" she asks, edging a little more towards the end of the branch.

"I see."
Foxpelt is now circling the base of the tree.
"And why was that so necessary?"

"That's what I'm supposed to do," Raven says, ears back. She digs her front claws into the wood of the branch, tensing her muscles.

"Oh?"
Foxpelt's ears prick up slightly. Maybe he can get something out of this...
"Who told you that?"

Raven shakes her head, ears pinned.
"I'm not supposed to say," she says quickly. She glances from Foxpelt to her branch, her claws digging deeper into the branch.

"And why not?"
Foxpelt paws at the bottom of the trunk.

"He didn't tell me," she says, shrinking slightly.
"M-maybe if you can catch me, I'll tell you his name," she says quickly, trying to sound brave.

"Fine then."
Foxpelt starts to climb the tree. He isn't moving quickly, but he's quite steady.
"Let's hope this goes better than last time..."

Raven waits until Foxpelt has reached the start of her ranch, then leaps down and sprints across the border. Stopping several foxlengths into BreezeClan territory.
He can't follow, she reminds herself. Warriors don't cross the borders.

Foxpelt returns to the ground, head and tail drooping. For a moment, he considers pursuit.
"No, bad idea. Let BreezeClan deal with her."
Foxpelt sighs and resumes his patrol, making a note to tell Mottledfrost about Raven.

"Bye, Foxpelt!" Raven calls, sounding relieved as she turns tail and runs away, keeping to the border.

Foxpelt continues his patrol a while more, but eventually loses any hope of finding anything. He returns to FernClan camp, hoping delivering news of the other rogue will serve to counterbalance his not actually catching her.
